Your game, on your device

Privacy policy

Republic is a single-player iPhone game with offline gameplay and local saves. Optional gameplay analytics is off by default and requires your choice in Settings. Playing does not require an account or analytics consent.

Saves and preferences stay local

Saved presidencies, custom president and party names, and experience preferences are stored in the app’s storage on your device. Republic uses that information to continue your game and remember your settings. It does not upload these records or provide its own cloud-sync service.

Optional gameplay analytics

You can choose to share gameplay analytics through Google’s Firebase Analytics service to help understand how the game is used and improve it. This includes fixed screen and interaction categories, policy and indicator views, campaign starts and resumes, difficulty and custom-start status, quarter bands, confirmed fictional policy choices and setting buckets, cabinet changes, quarterly summary buckets, fictional event choices, election win/loss, and game-ending or command-failure categories. Policy, indicator, and event identifiers refer to the bundled game catalogue.

Firebase also processes an app-instance identifier, device and app properties, session information, and coarse geography derived from IP addresses. The persistent app-instance identifier associates events from the same installation, so this information is not described as anonymous or necessarily unlinked. Republic does not request your precise location.

Analytics excludes custom president and party names, free-form text, world seeds, save files, political profiles and compass positions, and state-by-state votes. Fictional gameplay choices are not used to infer your real political beliefs. Republic does not require a game account, has no advertising, and does not intend to use analytics for cross-company advertising tracking.

Analytics is off until you explicitly opt in through Settings. Firebase is initialized only after you opt in. You can leave analytics off or turn it off later without losing any gameplay features. Turning it off stops future analytics collection and clears local analytics SDK state. It does not automatically delete information already uploaded to Google, and deleting a game save is not a request to delete analytics data.

Keeping and deleting data

Local game data is kept until you delete it. You can delete individual presidencies in Saved games. To remove all local saves and preferences, delete the app rather than offloading it. Copies held in device backups are managed through your Apple backup settings.

Retention of uploaded analytics depends on Google Analytics property settings and Google’s service policies. Turning analytics off or clearing local SDK state does not erase previously uploaded data. For questions about retention or other privacy requests, contact the developer below.

Google’s analytics service

Google processes the optional analytics through Firebase and Google Analytics. Its Firebase Analytics data-collection information and privacy policy describe the service. Advertising identifiers, Google Signals, advertising-account links, and advertising data sharing are not part of Republic’s intended analytics setup.

Apple services and optional Game Center

On supported builds, you can sign in to Apple Game Center to submit achievement progress associated with your Game Center account. This is optional; core gameplay and local saves work offline without signing in. Game Center is separate from Firebase analytics and is governed by Apple’s privacy policies and your Apple settings.

Apple may also process App Store, TestFlight, diagnostic, or device-backup information under its own policies. Republic does not control Apple’s processing.

This website and hosting requests

The website source contains no analytics scripts, advertising trackers, accounts, or contact forms. On 5 October 2026, a browser audit found Cloudflare automatically adding a performance-analytics script to delivered pages. Response headers now request that HTML is not transformed, to prevent this automatic injection. This does not erase information already processed by Cloudflare.

Visiting a website still sends a request to its hosting platform. The hosting platform may process technical request information, including IP addresses, browser details, and access times, to deliver and protect the site. Hosting logs and their retention are controlled by the platform. Website requests are separate from local game saves and optional in-app analytics; this page does not claim that the hosting platform creates no logs.
